title: Speechless?
date: Tuesday, January 30, 2007
time:4:31 PM
Finally, the half of the worst has passed. I have done my speech for the class today. I was feeling kind of hot at my back when I spoke. I mean literally. Really, my back was hot while my hands were cold. I suffered from some blurred vision as I was speaking too. As when I looked up to give eye contact, i don't exactly see a clear feature of my classmates, just patches of them. Haha... I'm overly-worried and nervous. At least I got over with it. Hopefully I get a good score from the teacher... Wee... ...

And yet again, another stressful week is going to happen.

Today, I wore my new pair of school shoes and no one seems to notice them untill i say,"Hey did you see anything wrong with me. I've got a new pair of shoes." I don't really like them since they are big, bulky and bothersome. Contridicting myself at the same time, I have to admit that I like them too as I can spin with them unlike the previous, which is ever so squeaky whenever I try a single turn.

Given blessings, my sore throat is much better today after abstaining from fried and heaty food. Hopefully it gets better before Chinese New Year. Not because I can gobble down more tidbits, but it's really horrible being stuck with a pain in the throat.

Now here's the peachy part. Go Go Dionne!!! You can do it!! After this week, you can go Chinese New Year shopping. Get over and done with the line of tests and SPAs until the end of the week and you can rest well for the next 2 days.

On top of all these, I would like to share the topic for the day. If you did not like my speech in the precious post, then I suggest you stop reading at this moment. I shall bid you a goodbye. Interested readers, please move ahead:

Mr. Chow was discussing with us on how Man was created and he said that there was 2 gps of scientist with 2 different thesis to their explanation.

The first ~ the creationist. These people believe in the religion of the bible. They said that God created everything but he stopped his creation on the 7th day. This resulted in a certain amount of energy created in Earth (he was teaching Energy, work, force then). Because of this, energy is not lost or further created from then on, which explains the theory of why energy cannot be elminated or created. However, they believe that after billions of years, this bulk of energy will be used up. The sun will turn into a mass of nothing. This is when no living things can survive. Thus, the effect of God's creation has been prophesized - Death and Destruction.

The second ~ the prehistoric. These people believes that we are from apes and the prehistoric dinosaurs era which developed till today. But no concrete evidences showed the evolution of the apes to humans. They explained that there was an extravagant volcanic eruption that had occurred which caused the formation of the energy found today.

Well...here is the 2 thesis laid out for you. It's up to you which one you believe in. But I must say, I am more convinved in the first thesis.

I have to end this quickly or else my dearest potato will blame me. It's a pity as I would like to type more.

So long..Wee...

title: Dance
date: Saturday, January 27, 2007
time:10:27 PM
It's been a coughing journey for me. The more I speak, the more I cough. Thus concluding that the best medicine is to be mute for the day.

I kind of miss hip hop and salsa today. I was supposed to go every Sat but I have to stop them temporarily till after my "O". How I wish time will pass faster so I can resume my normal lifestyle where I can continuously workout my legs. I love doing that. It makes you a more stable person, physically and mentally. Physically as I will do my turnings and moves to polish my lines and sharpness. Mentally, I am overcoming barriers in my mind. Take for example a double spin. At first, I can't seem to do it. Yet now it has came true and I can spin. Yay...

Today, I shall touch upon the topic of dancing (oh I always do):

Many people think that dancing is some bimbotic form of expression where the girl shakes her butt or do a bodywave. However, I beg to differ. I think that dance requires lots of discipline and determination. She has to tone her body to push it to its limit so ensure that maximum results are obtained. In this way, when you see her dance, she will have the expression of the dance and her body shall flow to the music without hesitations.

Expressions in dance? What's that? Well, it doesn't mean you smile all the way or cry when you are in a sad atmosphere. The dancer has to carry the feeling in her moves and achieve the aura in her that is similar to the character of the dance. For example, in hip hop, you have to be this cool, starve-for-a-punch look in ur face. Yours moves have to be sharp to the very end so it will seem like a powerful move. In ballet, you have to be poise and graceful. Yet on the inside, you have to pull up your body constantly, so you will temporary "lose some weight". In this way, the dance will maintain her balance when doing a jump or spin. Similarly, in salsa, as in hot, sulty salsa, you have to pull this "hey!!! look at me!!I'm sexy" face. This way, the audience will have the motivation to look at you doing the shimmy or flips.

Discipline? Why do we need this? I thought it only existed in uniform groups? Well.. if you do not have the dicipine, how do u aim for a triple spin and ending with a leg-lift? It really takes the wit and strength to get there. Also, if you don't constantly practise, how are you going to maintain the stamina to catch up with the speed of the music. I think by then you will be chasing the music instead of using the music to dance.

The art of dancing is indeed a deep and analytical one. That's why I have fallen in love with it.

title: Analysis

Oh on...i've been eating too much heaty stuff and my sore-throat has turned into an evil pain in the throat.

I shall talk about yesterday.

The fun started during St John's. After opening parade, Tm and Sok Ee handled their new Sec1 cadets. Thus, all the sec4 were involved in introducing ourselves to them. I speaking in a "rushy" tone. Not sure why. I tend to feel as if someone is urging me to be faster or else there's no time left. Hmm...i'm suffering from psychological problems. I must be hearing things.

In the meantime, the Sec 2 and 3 were having their ALPHA first-aid test. So after everything was settled, everyone had their games. It was kind of a game cum serious business day for st john's and I like this way of running. It's lighted-hearted yet fun.

So the Sec 2 and 3 had this running whilst a passing-the-ball-to-one-another game while the Sec 1 had their own interactive games. Naturally, their squad commanders and PS (doing first-aid) are hooked up with them, leaving the admin and logistics department people to die of boredom.

YY suggested we play badminton behind the classroom blocks so most of the remaining trudged towards the area. it started off with Ruth, YY, Amanda and I playing a friendly match. (YY claimed so) However, as the game goes on, and as the non-playing people cheer for one another, it soon turned into a competitive match. So much for YY's comment on having a FRIENDLY one.

After more rounds of playing and more people getting involved, there were several HITTINGS here and there which was SUPER painful...hmm....

Salsa was fine. I'm still not used to Thumpers. Everyone is fighting for this one retangular piece of mirror on the pillar in the center of the dance floor to see if our moves were nice. I was a guy for the day since Dawn was the guy the previous week. There seems to be a more overwhelming number of guys than girls around. I don't know why.

The moves for the week was taught by Kyo and it was this spin and jerk, spin and jerk kind of feeling. Poors girls... however pitiful they are, the guys are suffering too. How I know, I was the girl-guy for the day right.

So I classified the girls into 4 major groups:

1) Finger-grabbing ~ these girls practically grab your fingers as you try to spin her. This is a dangerous move as the GUYS will lose their fingers in no time.

2) Finger-slipping ~ these girls somehow don't have their basic salsa tension and hook right. When I hold the hands for give it a tudge, they just slip off my hands. This worries me as I have to be responsible is they fall as I can't control them right.

3) Turtle-pace spinners ~ these girls can't seem to spin any faster. They have not mastered the art of spotting thus their head seems to be a second slower than their body while their spinning. This makes me slow down for them and we will be lagging behind the music.

4) Top-spinners ~ these girls have a good grip, good tension and spin fast enough for the music. The problem is that when I spin them, they will get go and spin super wildly. The bad thing is they go everywhere around the dancefloor and not along a straight line which they supposed to me. This scares me the most as i have to control them before they come crashing into another couple.

Well...I shall end this analysis here and bid you a Wee... ...

title: Sweet Sixteen
date: Sunday, January 21, 2007
time:1:05 AM
Hmm... it half an hour after my birthday.

It's really been an enjpyable sweet sixteen for me this year. Let's relieve the hours during my birthday yesterday... ...

In the morning, I met Elyas, Weili, Lynette and Nathania for first-aid duty. There was this South-West CDC extravagant thing and we were stationed in this miserable tentage which don't even seems to be for us. It's could have been more of a stock room as there were cartons of water bottles in the tent.

So, there we were, so bored thus, inovative Elyas started drawing the words Happy Birthday Dionne on the carton box. On top of that, he drew a 2D bithday cake. I said that it was not good enough and he volunteered to call Weiye Sir to get me a cake...hmm....

So, one person suggested cheese while another shouted chocolate, this resulted in a super-duper sinful oreo cheese cake. We ate it up before the second shift came. It was a really SWEET sixteen. The cake of more than sugar sweet.

After that, I went for salsa. I got a glimpse of Rebecca's boyfriend. Ha...

"Resourceful Dawn opened her once small mouth and burted my birthday to Emma. Yan Qing was there too and they decided to buy a cake. This was still acceptable since it's just a cake.

However, in xenbar, they have this tradition of having to dance with all the guys (or girls) in the house. Stupid Dawn stood at one corner. It was kind of scary as I was the only one dancing with each guy, feels a little like a puppet, spinning here and there.

Oh yes, talking about presents. I received a wonderful Step Up CD from Amanda and a black kitten and puppy from Tan Min and Zhu Qing. Brenda (D&D Fan Club) gave me a necklace and earring set which are shaped in a heart. Dawn did not give me any present...hmm...i think she almost wanted or maybe she did buy me a earring with something else.

Of course there are heart-felt wishes from many many people... haha... I would like to say a big thank you to all.

After that, we went home and Dawn and I meet Tan Min and some others. Kuan Yuan was there and when he saw Dawn, he kind of got cranky. He threw his bags and ran up and down the MRT stairs. haha... After that, he avoided us by walking away. Ha ha...so funny.

Well... that's all for my memorable birthday. It was really sweet and nice.

Wee... ...

title: Tickling bug?

I've somehow caught the tickling bug...

Whenever I laugh these days, it would be crazy maddening laugh. You can ask TM. Haha...she seems irritated by my "noises".

Anyway, this post shall be short and sweet.

My sweet sixteen is coming in 2 days. That means my birthday is on this Sat. Yae!!!I don't quite like the term "sweet sixteen". It sounds abit like a bitch, bimbo, brainless kind of word just for those party girls to use. They go, "Oh it's my sweeeeeet sixteen birthday. I shall hold a grand party. Let's say a sleepover??" ...blah blah blah.

Since, it's term as SWEET sixteen, anyone wants to make it candy-sticky for me? I'll love to have surprises installed for me. Haha... it's kind of thick-skin to ask of me.

Wish me luck.

Wee...

2 more days to moi bdae

Forever careless, untrustworthy and irresponsible.
Tongue-tied while inconfidence reigns.
A never-ending pessimist who looks down on oneself.
Unfit for cetain roles yet is ordered to fake them out.
Wonders when will the ultimate punishment be justified.
Hopes to be given freedom from the torturous turmour.
Currently, depression overwhelmes follows by stress.
Always blaming oneself on the sadistic predicament.
When will white light be bestowed upon?
Wants to enjoy the joy of life without regrets.
Seems to be doing things behind them.
Just to hide the passion for something.
Or else they have to dictate one's piorities.
The thirst and hunger for freedom is growing.
Setting me free is the solution... ...

These are my deepest feelings that have overwhelmed me since then.
Why is this such a torture, I can't comprehend.
Maybe I have to just let go and let things flow?
As I realized that the more I give, the worst it gets.
I need comfort and encouragement, just like everyone else.
I seem to be treated as though I were a machine or even a freak who is not worthy of the love
Please, I'm human too.

The second week of school has past and it has gone by so swifty, seems just like a blink away...

Yesterday, Mr. Tan talked to the higher authorities in the sj room and I was there too. He was giving a speech on the current issues in sj and how they were solved and are to be solved. He also mentioned that it would be a super busy year ahead and all of us, which means from Sec 1 to 4 will be buzzing away, whether is it FAC coms in sj or SYF in the performing arts sector. Everyone is definitely busy. However, the main thing that he said which set my mind thinking was the fact that he mentioned on "burnout". He said that this year was the last year for us and we may be faced with so many things that we get so tired of everything that you do not give in your 100% in everything you do.

Pondering on this point, I realized that I have been abit shacked over the past few days. I have to smuggle sweets to class to keep me awake whenever I fall asleep. This is really really bad. I have to do something about it. Maybe if say I napped during Chinese, it's quite reasonable since Mr Lee's lessons are super boring and long-winded. Instead, I have been falling asleep everytime i'm feeling sleepy.

At home, whenever I go to bed and sleep, I just slump down and straight away I'm in dreamland. Wonder whats wrong with me. My body has not slackened over the hols since the vacations are equally busy - sj, performance, remedial (first few wks). Maybe I'm undergoing further hormonal development. Ha ha.

Seriously, I need to buck up in terms of energy-sustaining throughout the day.

Oh ya, I support annual camp by the way... it's combine camp is a no-no for me.

title: School
date: Sunday, January 07, 2007
time:11:25 PM
The normal routine days are back...haunting me once again.

The first week of school is pretty short since it started on Wed instead of Fri. So far, lessons started on Thur and it was alright. However, I can't seem not to fall asleep during Chinese period. Have to find a way where by I can stay awake throughout. Hmm... eat sweets? How long can it last. And if it were to work, do I need to buy it eveyday since there are Chinese lessons all week?

Hmm..shall talk about Sat. There was the annual CCA Extravaganza again to attract our prospective Secounday 1. Oh before I forget, I have to do a personal particular form for them to fill in as they step into St John.

After that, I had dance. Hip Hop was pretty fun. We did this washing machine move which require us to swing our hands round and round. Last week when teacher taught us, I could not grasp the move and the look, but this time I got it right. Haha... Then it was salsa. And again, I became the guy due to the outstanding number of ladies. Dawn, too had became a guy and we stood side by side. Of course I expected Cuban during intermediate. Stone has been teaching many of these Cuban sets for several Saturadys. I heard it is due to the lesson package. 4.1 to 4.5 is Cuban.

A little background knowledge about Cuban. It is a form of salsa which is danced in a circle. Many couples will dance together. A leader will shout out a command for the move to be excecuted (Just like St Johns right?!) It's fun when we do that. But imagine having the instructor, Stone, teaching them.

Cuban moves are rather complicated and it takes time to learn. Teaching within a 1 hr barrier is quite rush. So we learnt the move called La Jenny. It's quite funny as this moves requires the girl to move around the guy like a merry-go-round. The guy just have to lead the girl here and there.

After Salsa classes, Dawn and I did some dancing together again. Haha... we each spun each other, getting more and more exciting each moment.

Oh yes... how much I do love to spin!!!

I danced with bleach too who promised to burn me this salsa cd that I like which he owed. So at that time one of his songs were being played and he agreed only if I could follow him throughout the dance. Normally, it was quite a easy feat. However, this specific song was wierd. It was super-duper fast. It also has sudden pauses. Bleach was practically laughing over my misfortune that I landed upon the hands of an unorthodox person like him. His moves were abrupt and unpredictable thus you just have to follow him. There are no room for assumptions.

Shall end here. Wee...
