title: Results

Busy is the word to describe my current state. I haven't even got the time to use the computer. Oh how much I miss using it.

Well, one recent happening was the release of the 'O' level results. My results are not at all that good. In fact, it sucks. I scored a 12point. I can't stay in NJ anymore. I really love my class. It's a sad thing that I have to leave them. Another surpirsing result is my languages. For me, if I compare my english and chinese results, it's more logical than I scored better in eng since that's what I speak everyday. However, the world seemed to spin the other way round. My english got a B while my chi got an A. Thus is really werid. While everyone seems to be getting As for their English, my result wasnt the same.

My future jc in a few weeks time shall most probably be AJ. Something about the location of AJ. It was actually the place that we went to for my first hip-hop competition. ha. Such bad memories that place brings me since we didnt achieve anything in that competition.

Another much awaited festival coming soon is Chinese New Year. Yay I get to wear my new clothes that I bought. haha... I quite like the clothes that I chose. Furthermore, there are the new year goodies especially the pineapple tarts.

Today is such an EMO day. Whether is it for contemp dance in sch or at the hip-hop class, the dance routines were total sadness.

To Dawn: the song for this time's dance is Apologise by timbaland.

Another 2 more days and the 'O' level results shall be released. Any last minute feelings for me? Well, not excatly. I think the stress will come down on me only on the day itself. I mean there is no point to feel are clogged up by what will my results be and if I can stay in NJ. I await for the big day.

Anyway, I would like to comment on Dawn's post about her knees blooming. Yes, we are embarking or rather have embarked on our latest project. Another choreography to the song 'bout it' from the movie Step Up. This time I shall incorporate more pair work and attitude. This dance is going to be filled with hatred.

The storyline is like this: Two person met on the streets and don't like the look of each other. So they began to dance-duel. There shall be parts where they try to accomodate each other but they can't click. And they end up fighting and challlenging one another. Of course, in the end, they get together and the dance ends.

Hopefully what I deplict over here, the audience will see through the dance. It is going to be a whole new level from the previous dance, with more kicks, spins etc.

Besides this, last sunday on the 20th jan was my birthday. And I would like to say a big THANK YOU to those who wished me happy birthday. There were numerous of them. The feeling's really nice. From friends in NJ to Xen to my other friends. haha... Also, yesterday, my class S12 bought sheng kang and I a chocolate slice of cake each (our birthday falls on the same day). It was great.

title: Dance exchange
date: Wednesday, January 16, 2008
time:11:50 PM
Today, lessons started proper with pe, tutorial, lectures. Can't believe that the first day of PE is so intense. We ran 1.2km as well as doing sprints and jumps and steppings. Hizz... however, it was not as bad as it seems cause no calves are not aching. Shows that the intense dance practises during the hols helped. Tutorials were held in small classes around the school. It's pretty confusing searching for the classrooms after each hour.

At least today I need not stay back in school for CCA or other stuff. These few days I have been coming home late. Tomorrow there's hip-hop. Yae my forte...the one an only day that has hip-hop must absorb everything so that I have something to share during my exchange program on Saturday. So far, my partner is going to benefit a hip-hop routine as well as a contemp one on top of tomorrow's. wow!!!

Yesterday, we had contemp practise after that, I got my parents to fetch me back home to jurong complex for hip-hop. The lesson was taught by this super young and talented teacher. Really, he's good. Must learn from him as much as I can and broaden my hip-hop moves bank. After lessons I walked with sh and keith. Nice talks along the way. Somehow, when I see my secondary school friends especially in sj, I feel comforted and at home. haha... weird feeling right.

Can't wait for this Sat to come and I'll be meeting Dawn. Yipee!

It's been rumoured that the 'O' level results will be out next week. How I wished it was like today or earlier. I don't want the suspense anymore. I want to know where I will end up. Maybe I might enter a polytechic in the end. Then I'll have lots of time for dance. haha...But this mentality is bad. My parents will definitely disallow.

title: Orientation the end
date: Saturday, January 12, 2008
time:10:11 AM
Yesterday was the last that of the nj orientation 2008. It's pretty sad though cause the whole 8 days was really fun. haha...today I even had the urge to go to school when I woke up.

Last night we meant to have a fasincating campfire start-up but it was ruined due to the heavy rain.

Before that, in the morning, we had WAR GAMES!!! It was between 2 major alliances. In the end, ours won haha... We had to use plastic bags and tie them up before running to the safe zone of the other groups to make them wet. There were lots of rough play. Lots of people, especially our rival group, BLUE, went around pressing our plastci bags filled with water to burst them before we can send them flying into their territory.

And yes, I was wet by the person called TAN MIN. Each time, thrice. I was so happily being dried when she just poured water on me without catching my attention. Ha but I got my revenge when I went finding her with 2 water bombs in my hands. hahaha...I smashed them on her front and back. YAEE...

After that, we slacked, played games etc. Our class famous polar bear game. Next was mass dance again and we learnt another dance but it's rather ok. Not as interesting as till the dawn.

Gang bonding was up next and the first programme was our OGLs cross-dressing in their secondary school's. There was this OGL that dressed as a girl. It was super disguesting cause he added boobs to it too. haha

here's a pic:

We had dinner after a few rounds of captian ball against another class. It was pizza where it was buy one get one free. The thing about the pizza other than it's cheap is that when you dont pull carfully, the toppings with the cheese will be detacted from the pizza bread. disgusting.

And yes, campfire was cancelled due to the heavy rain. We ended up have 3 hours filled of dancing in the hall. It's atmosphere was totally different from other days. It was pitch dark and the only glowing thing was the disco ball at the corner of the hall. The coloured lights that it gives off were much brighter and greater than in xen. haha...It was amazing. However, it kind of got to hot inside with all cramping in the small area. Hei Hoi was mad, instane, crazy. She shaked like nobody's business and did a series of suductive moves.haha.. Even Jun Long said she is hot like that. haha...

Amist the other songs being played, there was the farmiliar mass dance songs being play to hype everyone up further was each of us grope for a partner in the dark to dance together. haha...nice.

By the time everything was over, I left school about 10.30pm. Our OGLs even gave we a nice gift with our photo in it. Cool...

On the whole, I think the whole orientation was wonderful. One thing is that it made me motivated to participate together with the class. Which is a good thing since I didnt really do that in my secondary school life. It's revolution time folks. I have to be more enthusiastic. ha...

One last concern is that I hope that I can get into Western dance. Dont know when the results are going to be out. It really keeps me in suspension.

To end it off, some pictures taken without anyone noticing:

The design of our black t-shirt for the orientation.

Us waiting at JE interchange for bus 170 to get back to NJ after THE QUEST.

Cecilia say cheese...

Veron

ZiYi - she cute right. Cuter than yu zhu haha

Lei Hoi - The shaky-your-botty gal.

Yi Ming - the bossy guy. As you can see our class had quite a number of nan huarians

Sheng Kang - Our class civis rep aka my partner(working together). Must get enthu with him like he said. ha

title: Day 6 Orientation
date: Wednesday, January 09, 2008
time:11:34 PM
This is so DAMN. My hands just moved over the laptop and my whole webpage disappears and my long post that I took so long to type was wiped out like that. This is so stupid.

So I shall repeat again.

Today we had THE QUEST and I had to travel down to Bugis to meet with the others. It was our first check-point. There are in total 2 check-points for the day. The other one was at JE.

The most disgusting part for today was the circle walk. All of us had to tie our shoelaces to one another and form a circle. After that, We had to walk a certain distance across this field. Though the word field sounds harmless, what if you add in the rain which makes the place muddy and 'puddly'. YUCKS. My sportshoes were dirtied the instant the walk started.

Lunch was at some kopitiam in one of the higher levels in the Bugis shopping malls. Unsure of the name of the mall since I dont frequent the place often. But all I can say that the food prices aint any closer to those across my house. Moreover, the food didnt taste as good. The you4 mian4 that I ordered was not only ex but not delicious. I think it pales so greatly in comparsion to the one across my house.

The second half of the quest was at jurong east. The most memorable part was that we had to run across this field to get from a pit-stop to the next. It was not too bad since the grass was dry but it reminded me of one thing. I have to build up my stamina for the upcoming NAFA test. I havent been doing my weekly swimming and I wonder if i do how much I will pant.

Tomorrow will be war-games and mass dance competition.

title: Day 5 Orientation
date: Tuesday, January 08, 2008
time:9:31 PM
I totally screwed hip-hop part today. I meant to concentrate in it rather than contemp. Despite so when I stood in front on the stage to perform today, I blanked out on the last 2 eights of the music. Surprising, I managed through when I was behind.

The western dance auditions started about 5pm today which was already quite late. To my dismay, we have to learn 4 eights for each dance when I thought it was only 2 eights. So from then till 7pm, I cramped in the hip-hop part cause I want to get into that. I think the contemp group is filled with girls who are so skilled in their techniques. Makes me feel kind of depressed though I want to focus more on hip-hop.

We were in groups of 8 people. 4 will stand at the front of the stage while the 4 are behind. So each dance is danced twice so we switch lines after each time. When I was front I screwed it. Damn. It wasnt the audience since xen was many opportunities to practise that but it was the time for me to absorb the dance. shucks. The music itself was a killer. The pace is fast and together with the newly learnt moves, you can blank-out anytime. haha

So after the 2 routines on stage, I was kind of crumbling since I was the last few groups which means i practised like hell and was too tired (but why couldnt i remember the steps). So when it was contemp I was like, aiya, just follow (for contemp there are people at the bottom of the stage to follow). And it was oddly fine. No hiccups only for the part where we need to kick the leg. Twice I didnt but the rest was fine.

Reached home at such an early time of 8.30pm.

Tomorrow is THE QUEST and I have to be at bugis at 8am. SO early loh. So lucky to those whose checkpoint is jurong east or boon lay.

title: Day 4 orientation
date: Monday, January 07, 2008
time:10:03 PM
Today was much 'funner' than I expected. haha. At first I thought that it was going to be a sadistic day for me since I dread interacting. We were regrouped into our form classes which most probably is going to last us till after CNY when the O level results are out. It turned out fine. Surprisingly.

My class is 08S12. '08' for year2008, 'S' for Science and '12' for the class number.

Unfortunately, my class is going to be on the forth level which is so high up. Hizz. Tm's is just in one of those container classes on the ground level. Hmph. Speaking of container classes, I remember during my days in primary school when the school was undergoing renovations, our class was shifted to those kind of classrooms too. The bad thing was that despite having the air-con, the container was still stuffy and hot.

Then we had mass dance. We are still stuck at 'Till the Dawn'dance thus I was kind of bored during the session. However, to make full use of the time, I learnt the dance afresh as the OGLs were explaining so I can teach the dance in xen. haha... I think tomorrow they will enbark on the 'hairspray' one. Shucks. another dance to cramp into my head. But I heard JJC got 7 mass dances. I wonder how did they manage to remember them. Well, one thing for sure, was that there's this guy called rickey who is super duper enthusiatic. All the moves that he did were to the maximum. And he also helped the OGLs do the counting for the music. Such an enthu person. ha

The MOST interesting part of today was the informal walk-in by the 6 different groups. I am in Soterios.

The storyline is about the dance master who was dead. So these 6 groups gathered for a meeting and they decided to have a dance battle to see who succeeds the throne. Following that, our seniors who represent each group danced gp by gp. It was cool. Absolutely cool. Getting to see 6 generally hip-hop based dances in one go. haha. Though the steps may not be wow but it gives inspiration to my next dance. haha.

Tomorrow will be another new day and it will be station games around the school. Sounds okie to me. But school ends later at 4pm. Shucks. AND the western dance auditions. There is hip-hop and contemporary auditions. Think I am going for both and see which i can enter. Wish me luck :) If I really can't get in, I think I have to reconsider my standard in xen. haha...

title: Dance
date: Sunday, January 06, 2008
time:12:29 AM
Today I learnt a BIG lesson. And it is that I should not be too gullible and trusting in future. As the Chinese saying goes: ren1 bu4 ke3 mao4 xiang4, I think it is really true. And because of this, I almost lost a 4 year relationship. Thanks to that person. Wonder if the person will read this.

On a lighter note, today i went to xen (again). It's something significant cause my days there are numbered (maybe not as numbered as Dawn's but i bet she'll have her ways). Hip-hop was mandy's chero which I dont exactly favour much. I bet keith and sh would. They have been trying to copy the younger girls moves when they dance. At least now they have a chance to learn it proper. Too bad today only Ya Lun the only guy was there. I bet he was bored stiff.

Prior to that, I was teaching my sch's mass dance to the younger hip-hop girls. They were so early, earlier than me, practising one of mandy's new chero (hey dawn, i forgot to show you. shucks) It was to the song lovestone and i guess keith and sh should be elated if they can learn it. haha... And yes and through them i learnt the moves. Impressive right. haha

Salsa basic was just like any other day BUT it was without music cause i think there was problem with the player. And I danced mostly with this lady who is a hwa chong teacher... scary right. She said she used to be a teacher in some special program in the sch but now she's just a relief teacher. Nevertheless, she was friendly though i was intimidated by her a little. haha

YAEEEEE... i chero about 4 eights of dance moves today. It's going to be Dionne's dance since Dawn and I decided to chero an individual one each and exchange in the end of the year. Hopefully I have enough ideas to last me through the whole song of about 4 minutes long cause i intend to use the whole song. One that is untouched, 'unmixed'. Anyway, my song chosen is pretty varied cause there is a slow part in it. So I can incorporate jazz into. So watch out Dawn. Do more stretches and kicks. hahaha

title: First day in nj
date: Thursday, January 03, 2008
time:6:56 PM
Yesterday was first day of school in njc. I was not as nervous as the first day of school in nan hua. Maybe because I knew that I would be seeing some of my old primary school friends there. To top it off, I was lucky to have huiwen in the same group as me. yae...

This 3 days till tomorrow will be more of admin stuff than fun. Yesterday due to the fact that i slept late and that the talks were boring, I kind of slept through majority of the talks. Anyway, those words coming out of the teachers' mouth could all be found in the student handbook given to us.

The fun part of yesterday was only when we were given or more accurately purchased the oreintation package. It consisted of a big bag of goodies. There were 2 shirts black and white respectively, a towel, water-bottle, shoe bag, hole puncher, a file and a notepad.

Today was another fine day again. I slept through some talks but the PE talk was the most interesting one. The tamil head of PE department teacher was most entertaining. He injected lame and humorous jokes into his talk and only in his did i stay awake.

The next segment of the day was the mass dance. We are going to have 2 dances this oreintation. One is to the song 'till the dawn' from the movie Step Up and the other from the movie Hairspray. I like the former better cause the moves are pretty cool from the viewpoint that it's a mass dance. The hairspray dance was almost the same as the former dance cause there were some repetitions in the moves, mainly the couple moves (the mass dances have to be done in pairs: 1 gal and 1 guy).

Tomorrow is more mass dance sessions and the CCA Carnival. I'm looking forward to the cca carnival cause i really want to see how's the western dance in nj is like. I heard from my nhh friend who is already in chinese dance that the people in western dance had strong foundation in ballet at stuff. It's pretty intimidating. Firstly, I think I have rather tall as compared to most of the girls in the school. Secondly, despite my numerous dance practise to condition my body over the hols, I'm not sure if I am even up to the standard. hizz.. zhixin coming along with me too, so I will not be feeling so nervous after all. Hopefully there is no audittions or something. Today Jingan was like promoting choir to huiwen and I and said that if we were interested, we could stay back after everything to be auditioned. Shucks.

At least, at this point of time, the study workload have not piled on me yet.
