title: Wonders
date: Saturday, March 29, 2008
time:10:16 PM
i realize that i love to ponder. This is especially strong when I meet someone unique or intriguing. I will try to observe the person's movements, character, and even to the extent of their backgrounds. Call me a stalker. But in fact i think it's pretty interesting to dig into a person's life. Of course the extent of my 'digging in others' privacy' is not to the serious extent that i affect their lifes. It's just that the facts, figures and information are there for me to source out and learn about the person.

However, I realize that everytime I find out more about the person's life, I get demoralized. The person is super accomplished. Well, maybe this person is accomplished in the area where i hope i can be accomplished in but WILL never have the chance to fulfill.

Thus i shall conclude that life is unfair.

title: Revival
date: Sunday, March 23, 2008
time:9:30 AM
Long long ago that I blogged. Now i'm going to give it a little bit of revival.

First week of term 2 in jj passed by alright. The thing about the time-table is that we have lots of 1hr breaks in between. I have at least 2 1-hr breaks everyday. Thus apart from using an hr to eat lunch, judy and I decided to be hardworking students and studied. Besides, the environment there is pretty good. We can choose to go to the study corner near the general office or go to the library where there's air-con and a myriad of reference books. The week flew pass fast probably because of the Good friday holiday thus we needn't go to sch on that day.

Good Friday was a family outing to jurong point. Although JP is near my house, going there each time doesnt seem to be a bore as I seldom walk along the shops. There was a sale in one of the sports shop where Elle walking shoes were sold at half-price. Yay so i managed to get a pair for myself at 25 bucks. Mummy and caleb got themselves a pair too. There were slippers offered at 9 dollars too and I got a brown pair. It has the hawaii look. In JP, we watched Horton- the comical elephant show. The graphics of the show is relatively good and the content is different. It's about the elephant talking to a pollen on a flower. Dinner was at Sakae Sushi. Caleb and I ate wisely. haha...

Over to dance. Wednesday was my first session of dance in jjdance. The teacher wasnt there since she was overseas thus the seniors were given the task of teaching us the chereography to the song 'Whine up'. And of course, jj's dance lived up to its name of having mainly sensual dance in their routine. Each time when we bend down and get up, we have to touch our bodies and slide up it upwards. Oh.... that really sucks. It's fine if it's in xen. But to think, in a school, one doing such seductive moves. It aint very acceptable. They still have this cane dance from what I heard and saw. The senior to us that only 5 person were meant to do this routine. I think it would not be pleasant and comfortable to watch. On the whole, I could catch up with the dance thus no other complaints.

Yesterday, we had a partial SJ outing in Vivocity. Partial cause only a few came not the majority. There was the 'arguement' over the location for dinner - Sushi Te or Carls' Junior. Of course, the expectations of the great news that was supposed to be disclosed on the day itself but no one voiced out. As a result, some others were pissed and a few just brushed it pass them. Sushi Te was it and I ordered this rice set where it consists of baked salmon and a few slices of raw ones too. It was tasty. Really liked it. Following that, the remaining went to eat Ben & Jerry's ice-cream. 'Fats' and 'calories' piled on top of one another with about 3 scoops of ice-cream added on with rather large cube-sized browies and to top it off, super-fattening wipped cream. I feel the pain for them when those eating put mouths and mouths of those stuff into their mouths. Ahh.....

This morning, as I blogged, I'm home-alone. Such feeling is great. ha...some may think i'm weird but I like the way it is. So what!

title: New blog skin
date: Thursday, March 13, 2008
time:11:24 PM
In a blink of an eye, the march holiday week is over soon. This is the fastest holiday i've experienced, tomorrow is Friday and I cant even go xen for the last time.

Oh well...at least i am going to achieve 3 out of 4 of my goals for the holidays. Or perhaps i even achieved half of the last goal.

After this week, I can consider that the battle has started. It's now the time to stock up my ammunitions so that they can be of good use at the end of the second year.

Today I finally changed my blog skin of which I'm quite sick of. Actually I found 2 dance themed blogskins that i liked a lot but somehow their formatting cant work. Also, I've changed the music too and i bet dawn should be very grateful since I will no longer blast into her ears when she enters my site haha.

As of now, the dance deprived buffa shall treasure the hip-hop lessons every tuesday. Hizz...cause the buffa thinks that up till now, that mere one hour lesson seems to be the only one that can partially satisfyher hunger for dance.

title: CCA carnival?!
date: Wednesday, March 05, 2008
time:8:58 PM
It's been almost a week studying in jj. As for now, it's rather slack since I get home round one plus everyday.

In school, I hang out mainly with 3 groups of friends. First is Judy, second is xiao wen and si hui and lastly is Xue Jie and my other 404 friends. So I can consider myself a migrant 'bird', flying to different places and adapting to my surroundings. ha...

One amusing thing in JJ was IDP, also known as interest development programme. This is a complusory thing for all JJcians in their 2 years stay in the college. Naturally, I will look for a program pertaining to dance. Of course they had one -- Lindy Hop. I bet most of you wouldn't have any clue what's linda hop right. Thus, you relate it to Hip Hop since Lindy hop has the word 'hop' in it too. Similarly, some of my friends in jj thought so too and they almost wanted to sign up for that. Little did they know that Lindy Hop is actually a pair dance. In fact this dance is more to the 70s near the disco and cha cha era.

Wonder how they would have reacted if they really signed up for the class if I hadn't told them about it. I bet the girls and guys will be shocked when the coach asks each of them to find a partner. haha...

Today, was some imprompt to CCA carnival. Well, we can't excatly consider it a carnival since the whole school wasn't prepared for it. The CCA booths were somewhat like last minute set-ups with just a table each for every CCA. Moreover, I guess majority of the J1s were clueless that the event is today until we saw those booths in the mist of being set-up.

I didn't stay for the event cause I'm quite sure what I want to join though that CCA may not be outstanding. Over at their booth, I met ros's sister who's in the CCA I want to join. Thus, I talked to her and aquired some infomation on the CCA I'm about to join. They do not have an audition and the vacancies are unlimited. It's quite wierd though cause all schools definitely have an audition to take in the better ones. The bad thing about not having an audition is that I won't have this sense of accomplishment. Cause if i auditioned and got in, means that I have what it takes. Well, that's my opinion though.

Dawn and Yu had their auditions today. Lucky for them both, from what i heard, they were the lucky 15 from J1s who got in. Yu, however, was given a 2 weeks probation since she wasn't technically strong. If she doesn't perform up to their standards, I guess she might as well go join band. Best of luck, Yu...

2 more days and it's going to be the March holidays. I'm looking forward to it. Despite so, at times I even forgot that next week is the hols. Some things to look forward to next week:
1) Step Up 2 (A MUST watch)
2) Tuesday's hip-hop class
3) Maybe to xen (twice)
4) A new laptop on Sunday

title: JJ camp
date: Sunday, March 02, 2008
time:5:02 PM
Last week was kind of an unfruitful week for me since mon and tue were trail lectures and the following 3 other weekdays were dedicated to the jj camp.

The teaching pace is slow thus it makes it so much more important for me to motivate myself to study. This shall start from next week. Besides dance and academics, I shall not commit into other stuff like being and OGL or in a class committee. Though these stuff make my testimonial look impressive after 2 years of accumulation, I could have used the time to study.

The camp was fine though. Nothing that really inspired me after attending it. One reason is that I'm immune to camps. I practically attended up to 3 camps annually for 4 years in Nan Hua. Furthermore, each camp can go up to 3 to 5 days. Therefore, another camp (one that is so slack with no physical training or footdrills) that is meant to be fun makes everything smooth sailing for me.

The only significant thing about jj's camp is their water games divided into 3 segments: one on Day1 and two on Day2 which are carried out at different timings of the day.

One thing I cant stand is the 'preaching' of self-motivation and character development. The camp should be geared solely towards bonding the campers to enable them to adapt to the new environment where there are new people and the unfarmiliar school compound.

However, in the end of the day, when I received the feedback form, what I see in the paper was:
- Did the camp change you as a person?
- Will you put others before yourself?
- Will you return back as an OGL next time?

I was expecting questions like:
- Did you like the food?
- Were the games fun? If not, suggest improvements to the games?
- Was the duration of the camp long or short?

So I shall conclude that this camp is not aimed at the students to learn more about their peers and surroundings. Instead, it is towards character development.

Nevertheless, I just dont get the cost of the orientation camp. It's 70 bucks, so expensive. I got a miserable black file, notebook and a lime green orientation shirt. As compared to my previous orientation in the other school, that only cost 23 bucks with a range of 'goodies' I get (read my past post of the items reveived), it's a world of difference.

Despite so, this camp allowed me to make new friends and even ones that I'm pretty close to already. Thus, I wont be so lonely when I'm in school.

JJ stuff aside.

YUP!!! Yesterday Dawn, Keith, Shi Han, Jun Long, Lei Hoi and I went to xen. I felt as though it was millions of years that I've been there. All of us except Junlong and Leihoi were there around 12 plus and I taught my chereography to the timbaland music. After that, we ventured into raggae and the lyrical hip-hop.

Only about 2pm did Leihoi and Junlong join us. I taught salsa. I was pretty hard though cause everyone was making noise and it's hard to speak above the noice. The outcome was partial success. I taught the basic steps or solo and pair but I didnt get to complete the simple turn and cross body leap turn (the important ones). Can't be help since it's their first and most likely the last lesson so it makes it harder to grasp the fundementals.

Taught hip-hop at 5pm. Surprisingly, there was a guy in our class. I taught the timbaland chereo. By then, I was feeling a little emo cause everyone left except dawn and the class was quiet. Now I understand how trevel,my tues dance class teacher, felt when he asked a question and no one replies. ha.

The mood lifted slightly when Dawn and I experimented with the CODA thingy and using a faster pace music, HIT THE FLOOR. haha...it was fun.

With that...
